I cannot recommend Dr. Carter and this practice highly enough!! The office is exceptionally clean and welcoming, and every technician and staff member we encountered was extraordinarily tender, patient, and kind. Dr. Carter is truly remarkable. There are some people for whom veterinary medicine clearly feels like more than a profession, it’s a calling. She has an incredible presence and warmth about her, and honestly seems like someone who was put on this earth to love and care for animals. My rabbit is 12 years old, and Dr. Carter treated her with so much dignity and tenderness. She personally did everything herself—from the examination and blood draw to cleaning her ears and carefully brushing and grooming her. She took her time with her and treated her as she is, a life worthy of patience, comfort, and respect. As my sweet bunny has grown into a very elderly bun, I’ve carried a lot of shame and worry about whether I know how to properly care for her at this stage of her life. Dr. Carter never once made me feel judged or like I had failed her. Instead, she spent so much time listening to me, reviewing everything with me, teaching me, and going through different options, products, and lifestyle adjustments that could help her. I left feeling like I understood my elderly rabbit better and, most importantly, like she had been genuinely seen and cared for. Watching Dr. Carter with her genuinely moved me. Her aura is incredible. I am so grateful we found her! She even gave me hugs when I cried from relief and gratitude at the miracles she performed bringing so much dignity to my darling bunny.

Exceptional doctors, staff and services. I’m so relived that I can take my 22 year-old African Grey Parrot to Dr. Boutette! Dr. Boutette and his assistants have been outstanding every time we visit. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and friendly. Most importantly, I trust his expertise and recommendations involving my pet. He will take time for your pet and for your questions. A rare quality these days at vet clinics. A shout out to the front desk gals - ALWAYS friendly, patient and helpful. Evergreen Avian and Exotic is a wonderful place to take your pet(s).

Dr Boutette and staff are saints. We have brought our two African Grey Parrots here for 10+ years and always have the highest level of care. The intelligence and institutional knowledge Dr B has is off the charts. He’s very calm with the birds and has an extensive knowledge of avian care. His staff/assistants are also very kind and several of them own exotic animals/birds as well. Very happy that he’s still around!

I have mixed feelings about this place as some vets are nice and informative but I had a bad experience 2 months ago with a different vet, where I was not informed she would take blood from my bird from the neck instead of his claw, even though i’ve repeatedly informed them we have plans after to visit his last owner. I could’ve brought him back another day for the bloodwork if anything but nope. When it was done, I asked but is it still ok for him to visit his last owner, who is a 84yo lady that had been expecting us. The vet said “well I could only suggest not to do that as if he gets too excited, the wound could burst.” Like hello, if there is such a big risk, how could you proceed without asking me? And before we leave, the vet closed the door and stood in front of the door lecturing me I shouldn’t clip his wings, even though I repeatedly explained it was done by the last owner and I’ve just recently adopted him and doing the best I can. Instead of trying to understand me, she kept on judging me on a high horse and made me extremely uncomfortable and unheard. I don’t have many choices in terms of avian hospital, so for the sake of my birds’ health, I will still go back but I would specifically ask for the vets I had good experience with to avoid getting a bad experience again.
