Doctor Pollock inspired me. I pursued veterinary for a while and realized emotionally I wasn't cut out for it. She treated the animals I brought here with great care, my chickens, ducks, geese, and dogs. I do not remember which veterinarian it was but they preformed euthanasia on my dog after two german shepards came into our yard and mauled her. The compassion, patience, and gentleness shown to them I will never forget. Once they tried an experimental surgery to see if they could help one of my chickens with a twisted ligament, it wasn't successful(fixing this issue is very difficult in the first place and if you don't know there isn't any specialized avian veterinary tools, they make do with tools meant for other animals) The fact they tried everything they could for her meant a lot to me. I don't live in Washington anymore, but if I did I would make the effort to drive to this clinic. Having their staff work with my family members was something that I think changed my life and fueled my current career with animals.
After itemizing my daughter in laws Bill before she booked the appointment they charged 150+ more for the services. Good business isn't conducted like that. Grifter's and charlatan's the lot. Use care if you're going to patronize this establishment I recommend you not go there. Businesses who are unwilling to honor their word don't deserve our business
I WILL NEVER RETURN
I chose this veterinary clinic because it was local and because I called ahead to get pricing before making an appointment. I specifically asked what everything would cost, including the needle test to determine whether my dog's lump could be cancerous. I was told that test would cost **$45**, and based on the prices I was given, my total bill was supposed to be **$349**. I even wrote everything down in my phone while I was on the call.
Once I arrived for my appointment, I asked the veterinary assistant how long it would take to get the test results. Before taking my dog to the back, she told me the results would be available **the same day**. She then took my dog to perform the procedure. When she returned with my dog, she told me the results would actually be available **tomorrow**. A few minutes later, when the veterinarian came into the room, she told me the results **wouldn't be available until next week because the sample had to be sent to an outside lab**.
So within the same appointment, I was given **three different timelines** for the exact same test:
* Same day.
* Tomorrow.
* Next week.
That alone made it seem like no one was on the same page.
The biggest issue, however, was the bill. Instead of the **$45** I had been quoted for the needle test, I was charged **$206.23**. When I questioned the charge at the clinic, I never received a clear explanation for why it was so much higher than what I had been quoted beforehand.
After I got home, I called the clinic to ask why I had been charged over four times the quoted amount. The receptionist told me it was because the sample was being sent to an outside laboratory. However, the veterinarian had already explained that sending it to a lab was necessary to get the results. If that is the standard process, then I should have been quoted that price from the beginning—not told it would only cost $45.
The receptionist's solution was to simply cancel sending the sample to the lab and refund that portion of the charge. Unfortunately, that isn't a real solution. By that point, I had already taken time off work, paid for the appointment, and gone through the entire visit. Canceling the test would mean taking even more time off work, scheduling another appointment somewhere else, and starting the entire process over—all because I wasn't given accurate pricing in the first place.
A difference of **$161.23** on a single procedure is significant. Had I been given the correct price when I called, I could have made an informed decision about where to take my dog or discussed my options before any testing was performed.
I understand that estimates can sometimes change, but accurate pricing and consistent communication are important, especially when pet owners are trying to budget for unexpected medical expenses. Between being quoted one price and charged another, receiving three different answers about when results would be available, and being offered a solution that would have required me to start over elsewhere, I left feeling extremely disappointed.
Unfortunately, this experience has been enough that I will not be returning. I hope the clinic improves its communication and provides accurate quotes so future clients can make informed decisions before agreeing to treatment.
