Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital Small Animal

5 stars across the board from front desk to Dr.McGregor and her assistant. Always efficient, courteous and kind.

We love Dr John and his Vet Tech. I believe her name is Shay

If I could give this clinic zero stars, I would. My dog needed a simple ear surgery, and they almost killed him. He had an ear infection. When he scratched his ear, the infection got in through a tiny wound, and the ear became inflamed. I dropped him off at the clinic in the morning and was told they would call me after the surgery to pick him up. Nobody called. After 1 p.m., I called to ask how my dog was doing. They said he was fine and I could pick him up around 3 p.m. When I saw my dog, my heart sank. He was lying on the floor, unable to move, and wheezing. I asked what was wrong and was told he was fine, just recovering from anesthesia. The nurse dragged him across the floor by the leash. I wanted to carry him, but she said, "No, he's okay, he can walk." No! He couldn't! Two years earlier he had undergone serious spine surgery, and even then his condition was much better than after this ear surgery. Dr. Grace Marcus, who performed the surgery, never called me, never met with me, and gave me no information at all. My dog barely survived. He lay flat for two days. Within a week, the ear started to swell and hurt again. I took him to our previous clinic in Issaquah, where the doctor determined that he had suffered a micro-stroke during the surgery and noted it in his medical record. Dr. Marcus never told me about this. All of this cost me about $2,000. I don't know what they did to my dog there, but since then, he has become very fearful of vets. Please don't take your pets to this clinic. Keep them safe.

I brought my dog in for 3 large skin tags. They charged 3k for surgery, and only did 2. Gave her an infection, and killed her. Disgusting behavior, and practices.

I brought my 12 year old dog in with a Pyometra. They put her on two weeks of antibiotics. This is a life threatening emergency that needs to be operated immediately not something that can be taken care of with antibiotics. Thankfully my dog was experiencing an "open pyometra" otherwise she would have died. After the two weeks I brought her back in because it hadn't gotten better and a different vet seemed surprised and explained the urgency of the situation. Obviously frustrated with my own self for trusting the doctors and not doing more research. I found a DIFFERENT VET clinic that scheduled her for surgery the next day and she healed very well. This happened about two years ago but it seems like such a major mess up on their part that people need to know not to go here.
